HOW IT WORKS

Finding support
should feel simple.

A personal process. Clear expectations. Your family’s decision, at every step.

01

Tell us about your family

Share your location, timeline, and the support you have in mind. Ariel will review your inquiry and respond within 1 business day.

02

Personal consultation

Talk through the details beyond the form: your priorities, household, and what a good fit would feel like.

03

Thoughtful matching

We consider relevant experience, approach, availability, schedule, location, and budget.

04

Meet your matches

Get to know a small number of potential professionals. Ask questions and talk about your expectations.

05

Choose your professional

The final decision is yours. Review references, role-specific screening, scope, fees, and written terms.

06

Begin care

Agree on the practical details, communication, and transition plan before the first day.

07

Stay connected

As your family’s needs change, return to the collective to explore the next kind of support.

FOR NANNY PLACEMENTS

A considered search.
An organized start.

Your search agreement sets out the fee, scope, timing, and any replacement or cancellation terms. A nanny’s wages remain separate from the agency fee.

Understand the costs →
  1. Family inquiry and consultation
  2. Written search agreement and disclosed placement fee
  3. Search begins after agreed payment
  4. Curated introductions and family interviews
  5. Paid trial when appropriate
  6. Final selection, references, and role-specific screening
  7. Employment agreement and household-payroll arrangements
  8. Start of care and an agreed follow-up plan

BEYOND THE FIRST DAY

Make the handoff
part of the plan.

Talk through the first shift, routines, communication, and how concerns will be raised. For a nanny placement, discuss check-ins after the first 48 hours, two weeks, 30 days, and 90 days when you agree on your follow-up plan.

Moving from postpartum support to childcare? Include your return-to-work date in the inquiry so the next search can begin before your existing support ends.

A CLEARER STARTING POINT

What support do I need —
and when?

You don’t have to have it all planned. These are starting points for a conversation, not deadlines.

BIRTH DOULA

During pregnancy

Often around 16–24 weeks

Leave time to meet your doula and prepare together. Already in your third trimester? Reach out to check availability.

POSTPARTUM DOULA

Before baby arrives

Or whenever you need support

Plan daytime or overnight care ahead of the transition home. If your baby is already here, you can still ask for help.

PROFESSIONAL NANNY

Before care is needed

Allow approximately 4–8 weeks

Make room for a thoughtful search, interviews, references, any paid trial, and a clear transition into ongoing childcare.

CARE FOR WHAT COMES NEXT

Start with where you are.

Preparing for birth. Settling in at home. Returning to work.
